What Happened To This Airport Over The Course Of One Year Is Heartbreaking
Recently, Russian-backed rebels in the city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine successfully overran the Donetsk airport. Until this point, the airport had been held by Ukrainian forces. Donetsk has been the epicenter of fierce violence during the Russian backed rebellion in eastern Ukraine.
The rebel attack on the airport left at least 6 Ukrainian soldiers dead and another 16 wounded. The attack also left the airport in ruins. Pictures from the airport now look like something right out of a post-apocalyptic movie.

Sadly, the conflict in Ukraine is continuing to grind on with no definite end in sight. Both Kiev and Moscow continue to accuse each other of inciting further violence. Unfortunately, it”s the innocent civilians who suffer while the politicians bicker.
