What Customs Agents Found In This Woman’s Suitcase Will Shock You Silly

By  |

If you heard about a place housing 55 snakes, 35 lizards, seven turtles, six lemurs, two monkeys, and a leopard cub, you”d think we were describing a zoo. Unfortunately, we”re not. We”re actually describing the single suitcase of one crazed woman, who was thankfully nabbed by customs agents as she tried to sneak these animals into Russia.

That”s not a very big suitcase.

The woman was taking the animals from Jakarta, Indonesia, through Qatar, to Moscow. She was apprehended by Russian customs after a harrowing 6,515-mile journey. While all but two of the 108 animals in her suitcase survived, they were still quite terrified after their rescue.

The woman, whose name is not being released, denied that she was going to sell them, but that they were for “future breeding.” Given that illegal animal trading is rampant in Russia, her excuse is unlikely. The woman is being held in detention. The animals, all exhausted and hungry, are safely being housed in Moscow”s Exotic Park, where they”ll stay until officials figure out the best course of action.
