This May Look Like Mush, But Add Wildflower Seeds And You Have Something Amazing
Mother”s Day is just around the corner, so it”s time to start thinking of gift ideas for mom this year. Many people send flowers, but why not create something floral with your own two hands this May? Instead of sending a bouquet that lasts a few days (at most), send mom a natural gift that keeps on giving. With a handful of wildflower seeds, recycled paper, and embroidery canvas, Jeni, the blogger of Twine & Table, made a gorgeous gift with a pretty, floral twist. Check out the tutorial below and start crafting a Mother”s Day gift she”ll never forget.
The finished product is pretty and ethereal, but wait until you see what”s special about this particular piece of paper.
Starting out with a picture frame and a piece of cross-stitching canvas, Jeni cut the canvas to fit the inside of the frame. Then she stapled the canvas down so it stretched across tightly.
Next, she tore up pieces of scrap paper and put them in her blender with a little bit of water. Once the mixture had a pulpy consistency, she poured it onto the canvas.
After spreading the pulp out to cover the entire canvas, she pressed the excess water out. You should place your frame in a pan or on top of a paper towel to catch the water. Add flower petals if you want to add some color.
When it felt mostly dry, she sprinkled wildflower seeds onto the paper pulp. Then she put another paper towel on top of the mixture and went over it with a rolling pin again.
Place the paper in the sun for 24 hours to dry out. When it”s dry, you”ve created a piece of homemade paper you can plant in your garden.
This makes a beautiful Mother”s Day card or gift.

This is so cool, I”m definitely going to try this at home. This would make a great alternative to a store-bought card for my mom — and it doubles as flowers in the future!
