When I was a kid, all I wanted in my backyard was a swimming pool. I had it all figured out. It would be big, beautiful, and have a diving board. I would host parties and it would fill every summer with unbelievable fun. (My vision for my fantasy pool was pretty amazing.)
These people, though, took their pool fantasy and turned it into a reality. It”s amazing what you can do with a bit of ingenuity and hard work. It doesn”t even require that much money…if you”re smart.
First, they gathered a bunch of wooden pallets. Then, they sanded them down to make them smooth and remove dirt.
They then painted and primed the pallets to give them a nice, clean look.
Then, they let the paint dry. (Of course.)
They arranged the pallets on top of a geotextile mat, which prevents grass from growing between the openings. It would also keep the pallets clean.
Then, they created a fence behind the pallets on the ground, reinforced with steel beams and wire.
Next, they added pillows and cushions.
And umbrellas. And lawn chairs.
Then, some candles and lights…
And voila! They had a beautiful pool deck that has everything for a perfect summer.

If only I had a backyard to do this in, I totally would. Let”s be honest, I probably wouldn”t. I don”t have the wherewithal to accomplish a feat like this. But kudos to the people who did, I”m insanely jealous.
