These Sculptures Are so Small, They Can Pass Through a Needle’s Eye.

By  |

Willard Wigan began his artistic career as a five-year-old building houses for ants. Fast forward a few decades, and while Wigan himself grew, his work has somehow managed to get smaller. Even a modest ant home towers over something as tiny as the eye of a needle, which is where Wigan crafts his minuscule masterpieces. It”s not always easy to appreciate someone”s art, but as long as you have a magnifying glass handy, you should have no trouble getting into Wigan”s work. Take a look at some of his sculptures below. Don”t worry, the photographs were taken up close, so you don”t have to go out and buy a microscope.

The creation of these sculptures requires immense concentration and calm on Wigan”s part to keep his hands steady when placing these microscopic objects. I”m jealous of the man”s eyesight, which must be superb in order to accomplish these works.

It”s amazing how sculptures that are so tiny can make such a big impression on you. If you”re interested in seeing more of Willard Wigan”s work, check out his website.
