The Art Of Paper Folding Just Got Taken To A Whole New Level With 3D Origami

By  |

Most people have a talent they can show off at the dinner table. Some people can burp the alphabet and others know how to balance a spoon on their nose. One of the more popular and socially acceptable talents seen in homes and restaurants is the art of paper folding known as origami. While almost anyone can make a swan out of a napkin at the dinner table, few have mastered what is known as “Modular Origami.” This is a type of 3D model origami that requires patience and a steady hand. The pieces below reflect hours of hard work, concentration, and apparently boundless talent.

Modular origami requires two or more sheets of paper to create the larger, 3-dimensional models that wouldn”t be possible using single-piece origami techniques. Each individual sheet of paper is folded into a module. Then, those modules are are joined together to make a larger form. If origami takes hours to master, it”s hard to imagine just how much work is required when mastering the art of modular origami.
