It’s Frightening To Think That These 5 People Nearly Got Away With Murder…

By  |

Every once in a while, criminals get away with their crimes and evade capture. They are crafty enough to break out of prison, but how do they do it?

The fact is that a life of crime never pays and those people are almost always caught and reprimanded. In fact, these 5 people are proof of our powerful criminal justice system. Don”t be like them and say no to crime.

1. Gonzalo Martinez

Gonzalo Martinez

Gonzalo Martinez was arrested for several gang violence-related charges. He was going to attempt to appeal his way out of prison, but fellow inmates convinced him to escape with them. After fleeing to Mexico, Martinez was caught dealing drugs and sent to a Mexican prison. Unfortunately for Martinez, he was extradited back to the United States, where he had extra time added to his sentence.

2. Richard Garber

Richard Garber

Richard Garber murdered his neighbor after a dispute. Garber wasn”t named as a suspect and moved to Las Vegas with his girlfriend, Anna. When Anna learned that Garber was the murderer, she alerted the police. When the police moved in to arrest Garber, Anna alerted him, and he escaped to California. On one of his trips to get more cash from Anna, he asked to stay at his cousin”s house for a few hours. His cousin called the police, who arrived to capture Garber.

3. Dominick Reddick

Dominick Reddick

Dominick Reddick pointed an empty gun at an officer and stole the cop”s gun before his arrest. After serving 10 months in jail, Reddick escaped from a broken down transport van. He ran and hid in a swamp for over 6 hours. U.S. Marshals chased Reddick in and around the woods of Chatham County, Georgia, until Reddick was spotted by a woman outside of a swamp. He went back to the prison that he escaped from.

4. Jamie Wiley

Jamie Wiley

Straight A student Jamie Wiley seemed to be the least likely suspect when his stepmother and three brothers turned up dead and his house set on fire. Police discovered him as the perpetrator of the crimes and arrested Wiley, sending him to jail for a maximum sentence. After four years of incarceration, Wiley escaped with another inmate into a nearby town. The other inmate was captured, forcing Wiley to hide in the undercarriage of a truck. The truck carried him on a rough ride to Utah along a gravel road, where he was left badly bruised. After reaching a rest area, Wiley called a friend for help, who secretly betrayed him. Wiley was later arrested with his father present.

5. Chuck Mallos

Chuck Mallos

Notorious robber Chuck Mallos was apparently also a master escape artist. He escaped 4 times from prison before finally landing behind bars permanently. First, while serving time in maximum security, his military officer brother requested his transfer to a low security prison, which he escaped from. He spent 18 months on the run, robbing stores and staying at motels, before he was caught again. He served another year before parole. After parole, he was once again apprehended while attempting to rob a pharmacy. He again escaped prison through the window of the prison gym. He traveled to Panama City, Florida, where he started a new life as a robber under the alias Franky Lee Bass. “Bass” was soon arrested after a series of robberies, but police failed to immediately identify him as Mallos. While awaiting trial in the local jail, he escaped with two other inmates, which failed. He was then transferred to a high security prison, where he escaped for the fourth time. He fled to an apartment and forced the renter to drive him to a nearby town. People in the town reported a suspicious person, and Mallos was apprehended at a bar.

Don”t even think about committing a crime. These people seem to be some of the craftiest criminals out there and they couldn”t get away with it. Take it from them: no matter what, you will get caught. Probably.
