It May Look Like An Edited Photo, But This Giant, Mutant Catfish Is 100% REAL

In the U.S., catfish are a tasty delight. Deep fry them, put some on a sandwich, pass the hot sauce, please! The only problem is that they aren”t usually that big. In Italy, they seem to have the opposite problem. Earlier this month, professional fisherman Dino Ferrari managed to land a 280-pound wels catfish in Italy”s Po Delta.
The Po Delta, where Ferrari caught the massive fish, is part of the Po River. It runs for 400 miles and is Italy”s longest river.
While the Po River is famous for its big wels catfish, most of the ones caught there are smaller than 6.5 feet long. This giant clocked in at about 8.8 feet long.
If all of that wasn”t impressive enough already, Ferarri used just a rod and reel to catch the fish.
